On February 19 around 6:00 AM, beloved Seaholm senior Collin Trask passed away in his home.
Collin had been suffering for several years from a meduloblastoma in his brain and spinal cord, and underwent several surgeries and procedures in an attempt to stop the spreading of the cancer.
On January 15, Collin suffered from a stroke which left him with limited use of his arms and legs. It was then announced that Collin had days to weeks left in his life. Collin’s last days were very painful and difficult for him, and he gradually lost function in the majority of his body.
A public visitation will be held at A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Directors in Troy, at 2600 Crooks Rd. from 2 to 8 PM on Friday, February 22. Memorial donations are welcome to be written out to the Rainbow Connection which aims to make dreams come true for kids with terminal illness.
The funeral service will be held February 23 at 10:30 AM, at First Baptist Church in Birmingham.
With heavy hearts, the Seaholm Highlander extends our condolences to the Trask family. The way one young man was able to bring together a school should be always remembered and forever respected.
